Howard L. Stone, Chairman
Mr. Stone served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of First Security Commercial Mortgage, along with Mr. Jackson (see Jackson BIO)
Mr. Stone served as Senior Managing Director of American Express Tax and Business Services Inc. from December 1999 to March 2005. Mr. Stone was a Senior Partner of the auditing firm of Altschuler, Melvoin and Glasser LLP (AM&G) and also served as its Managing Partner from 1981 to December 1999 until he negotiated its sale to American Express Tax and Business Services, Inc. As part of its services for the RTC, Mr. Stone formulated an AM&G asset management subsidiary which successfully liquidated $1.2 billion in book value of commercial loan assets of Lincoln Savings and Loan and Western Saving and Loan.
During the course of his professional service, Mr. Stone has attained a wide level of experience with a particular emphasis on all facets of real estate. He has consulted with clients on mergers and acquisitions, financing, strategic planning and a variety of corporate management issues. He was instrumental in the formation of ALAC; an offshore captive professional indemnity insurance company based in Bermuda, and has been Chairman of the Board of ALAC since its formation in 1986 until 1999.
He served as Director of CBOE Holdings, Inc. from January 2005 to May 17, 2011. He served on the Board of Trustees and as Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Rush North Shore Medical Center until its merger into Evanston Hospital during January, 2009.
Mr. Stone is a CPA and holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Illinois (Champaign) and did post-graduate work in selected courses (not towards a degree) at DePaul University and Kent College of Law.
